Funeral for a Friend bowled over by Superior Drummer 2.0!

Hailed as one of Britain’s best bands, Welsh quintet Funeral for a Friend have enjoyed seven years of rock success that have seen them triumphantly breaking into the lucrative US and European markets, playing all the major rock festivals around the world and sharing a stage with metal elite – Iron Maiden.
With their new single ‘Captains of Industry’ premiered on BBC Radio 1 last week, their album ‘Your History is Mine 2002 - 2009‘ due for release on 28th September and a UK tour starting in October, it’s safe to say things are going from strength to strength.
Funeral for a Friend’s drummer, Ryan Richards, has been using Toontrack’s Superior Drummer 2.0 in recent months and explained to Time+Space what a difference it has made…
“I can´t begin to express how much easier Superior Drummer has made my life. We´re now able to do studio quality recordings at home which aid the demoing and b-side process unbelievably – at a fraction of the price of going in to record drums at a "real" studio.
I´m able to blast out my jams on my e-drums at full volume with headphones on, hence keeping the wife onside and marriage intact.
If I´m feeling particularly lazy I can use the awesome preset midi beats and present them to my band and fool them into thinking I´ve been slogging away at my kit, when, in fact, I´ve actually been watching the footie with a cold beer.
I´m also able to rip of some of my favourite producers´ tones by selecting their custom presets, rather than endlessly browsing forums in search of the magic formulas to those particular drum sounds.
It´s much easier to carry around a little usb hard drive than it is to carry 50 different drumkits around. I´ve not actually put this to the test, but I´m sure I´m correct on that assumption.
