Sweden-based Softube are no strangers to producing world-class products. Their plug-ins have received glowing reports from some of the industry´s top names including the likes of Pete Townshend, Rik Simpson, Michael Brower, and many more. And now their two latest releases are drawing in even more praise and gaining the self-dubbed ´rock n roll scientists´ a few more famous fans.
PEG is a long-awaited addition to the Softube Modular platform. Fully licensed and endorsed by 4ms, manufacturers of the original hardware, the Softube 4ms PEG expands your creative horizon beyond what was previously possible.
Two independent envelope generators can be ´pinged´ by external sources - your DAW clock, for example - to define the cycle-length of the envelope(s) and generate rhythmic effects and interactions never before possible in Modular.
Dan Green (Founder of 4MS) was particularly pleased at Softube´s faithful and accurate re-imagining of the original saying:
"I was very pleased to see that you kept the original PEG´s internal sampling rate and that self-patched feedback loop patch also works on the virtual version!"
With a clean and easy-to-navigate modern interface, the Fix Phaser loses none of that quintessential 70s/80s sound and style, and can transform a flat, dull track into a vibrant living beast in no time, and in a number of different ways.
Fix Phaser builds on the mind-warping technical concepts already presented in the Fix Flanger and Doubler, completing the "Fix" modulation series. Never again will you reach into the toolbox and find an empty space where your spaceship should be.
Greg Wells, Producer and songwriter for Katy Perry, Adele, Timbaland, Mika, OneRepublic, Pink, etc. was particulary impressed with FIX phaser stating:
"When I engaged the Fix Phaser on my mix buss, in the factory default setting, I started time traveling through the galaxy, and realized I was wearing shiny silver pants. This thing is absolutely awesome... all the best parts of a phaser without the silly overcooked elements. Nice job, folks!"
