Works beautifully with external MIDI controllers
DRONAR is a deep, expressive and innovative atmospheric sound creator. This first module in the series - The Hybrid Module – creates deep, grainy cutting-edge, evolving cinematic and sci-fi atmospheres with 300 inspiring presets. Future modules will explore different areas of sound and music, and owners of the Hybrid Module will be able to purchase them for less.
A UNIVERSE FROM A SINGLE NOTE
Uniquely, DRONAR creates complex atmospheres from a very small number of notes played (1 to 4 recommended). It spreads out the chord in the mid-range, adds a root bass note, a high note and then adds evolving sound effects. 8 simultaneous different sounds are then animated with LFOs and arpeggiators to bring them to life. The result is rich and dramatic.
A HAND FREE FOR EXPRESSION
All this complexity from a few fingers on one hand frees up your other hand to expressively control the dials with mouse drags or external MIDI controller knobs, and record the changes as a performance in your DAW. Subtle dial movements give instant and deep expression, ideal for soundtracks as well as highly expressive cinematic pads in any genre.
A COMPLETE ATMOSPHERE
Because DRONAR instantly adds low, mid-range and high sounds plus sound effects, you barely need other sounds to quickly create a complete piece of atmospheric, expressive music.
BEGINNER AND EXPERT FRIENDLY
Needing to only play a few notes and move a few dials to get such rich expression is obviously inviting for beginners, but an expert will get much further by knowing what notes to play and how to express emotions using the dials.
THE 6 DIALS (MAIN INTERFACE)
INTENSITY (also controlled by the Mod Wheel) takes you from silent to powerful by fading up through different velocity layers.
MOVEMENT has a global effect on the intensity of the arpeggiators – set it high for strong effects and zero for a flat pad sound.
HI, MID and LO control the automatically generated high notes, mid-range notes and bass notes. Moving these dials has a huge expressive effect on the music. It’s only like using a mixing desk and yet – having it so accessible in front of you encourages you to work with the balance as part of the original creative expression, instead of a mix decision later on.
FX controls the level of 20-second futuristic, unpitched sound effects loops in the mix and add instant movement and complexity.
Then, beyond the shimmering immediacy of the ‘Main Page’ UI awaits a whole other world of expert control, turning DRONAR into a vast modular multi-timbral synth/sampler with multiple independent arpeggiators. It´s addictive!

DRONAR’S PRESET HIERARCHY – BRIEF OVERVIEW
DRONAR starts from hundreds of evolving, 20-second sample loops. 8 of these are loaded into each ‘Drone’ (an .nka preset file in the /Data folder, one loaded onto each ‘Drone Key’), and then there are 12 Drones in each .nki patch (in the /Instruments folder).
Played in the following order, several of the demos also feature a ´naked´ version (entirely sounds from Dronar).
Outer Stellar + naked version
Mothership + naked version
Armed Response 60
Back to Earth
Shields Up + naked version
Attack of the Drones + naked version

"DRONAR comes with a lot of great drone inspired sounds in different genres and categories. One of my favorite things about DRONAR is the amount of organic movement that can be added to the sounds via the movement dial. You can also arpeggiate each of DRONAR´s 3 layers individually, even the fx channel, which makes for some pretty crazy sounds" - BAFTA award-winning composer Jesper Kyd.
"The Hybrid Module is a great opening chapter in the DRONAR series. Beautifully put together and flexes within it´s own constraints well, with very easy controls and more available if you want them." - MusicTech Read the review in full

Whether you´re into dark drones or questing for the ultimate pad, ambience or tripped-out cinematic moodgasm, it comes highly recommended." - Sound on Sound Read the review in full
"It is when you start to play with the controls that you realise the power of Dronar, particularly when you consider what can be done with automation, or even a simple tweak of the mod wheel." - Future Music

For producers making dance and pop music who are looking for deep, rich, evolving sounds, it´s also well worth a look." - Resident AdvisorRead the review in full
"I bought it, with pleasure, the first day. Have only just scratched the surface, and love it so far! The GUI is excellent, but the proof is in the sounds and how they can be combined, changed, modified, and otherwise tweaked. Congratulations Dronar team!" - T+S Customer, John Tenney
"It´s rare to find a hybrid that has warmth. I like the way you utilized the octave range. Certainly helps it sound full out of the box." - Jawad Abu-Lughod
"I´m using it right now. One of the Dark Labyrinth drones. Love it. It´s a beautiful instrument, and extremely cheap at (intro price) 60 bucks. That´s a no risk price, no matter if you use it once or 50 times. You can do a ton of cool sound design style stuff with it." - T+S Customer, James Brown
"DRONAR is an amazing library. Lots of magic in this one! With many other atmospheric and sound generation libraries coming out today, DRONAR adds a new dimension of sonic possibilities that expand the artist palette in ways that no other has so far!" - T+S customer, Bryan Brylow AKA Arpegiator
"Bought and it´s amazing!!! Great GUI and lots of fantastic sounding instruments! Absolutely no brainer! Excellent for the darker side of ambient. First I did not want it to buy because I was a little disappointed with most of these hybrid libraries out there but this one is really amazing. Affordable price by the way :-)" - T+S customer, Andreas Kantner
"DRONAR exceptionally stands out atop all the generic pad instruments out there, worth it for the string-based presets alone. Layering is rich, flexible, and expressive. The interface is smile-inducing and randomize feature inspires creativity. Solid value, very unique AND usable — and I adore that magic sparkle dust!"-T+S customer, Torley
"All in all I would say I like Dronar a lot. It’s fun to play with. It seems to have a never ending supply of presets to explore and it does sound great!" - Beat Mode, Rating: 4.6/5Read the review in full

"DRONAR can also automatically produce chords from single or multiple held notes, but the real draw here is the easy layering and manipulating of samples from the soundbank, and the instant assignment of edits to keyswitches." - 8/10 Computer Music
"Dronar provides a low cost multi-layered product full of futuristic sounds and textures primarily for gaming soundtracks. With little effort you can mix sounds, demonstrating how detailed the effects are, or add pulsating rhythmic components sounds to a soundscape. The wide range of ideas - and varied templates in high-quality audio can be used immediately. However, you can dig deeper and create sounds from the sample selection to the drawable arpeggiator itself."- Keys Musik Und Computer
