These are passionate string ensembles that deliver a most lush and broad cinematic sound unexpected from a virtual instrument. They integrate perfectly into a variety of musical styles, from pop and rock to symphonic arrangements, from emotional ballads to film scores, from pure string beds to complete orchestral scores.
The Appassionata Strings offer various facets of sustains and Legato Performances with different intensities of vibrato as their main focus, but also include articulations such as Sul-G-Performances, accented interval notes, spiccatos, staccatos, various Repetition Performances, trills, runs, and much more. Also included are Vienna’s innovative “out-of-tune-samples” that can be used to create a heightened realism. This means that the various players slightly smear the note at the beginning and correct their intonation as the tone progresses - a very authentic technique since that’s exactly what happens often in real orchestra performances. The Appassionata Strings’ bass section consists of 6 five-string and 4 four-string basses, giving the low end a deep and rich flavor.
Each library comes with the Software Instrument, Standard Library, and Extended Library on DVD. You get each Collection with its Standard Library and the Software-Instrument (i.e., the engine with its user interface). You can also test the included Extended Library for a period of 30 days.
After purchasing a Vienna Instrument, which includes the Standard Library, registered users of the Vienna Symphonic Library and Horizon Series products will be granted extensive discounts to unlock the Extended Library of the Vienna Instrument.
