Apple Loops are a Mac based format created to work with recording platforms such as Garageband, Soundtrack Pro, Logic Express and Logic Pro. Similarly to Rex and Acid Loops, the files contain additional identification information including time and date, category, mood, key and tempo. They also contain a number of transient markers, which break them down into small time slices. The main advantage of Apple Loops audio files is their ability to automatically match the tempo and key of a Logic Pro project, which can save valuable time when composing.
