Yellow Tools was founded in 1999 by Drazen Vlahovic and Christian Hellinger in Karlsruhe, Germany. The goal was and still is to record acoustic instruments and make them available in hard- and software samplers - keeping up the natural sound and character of the instruments.
Since the existing samplers could not meet the musical demand of the yellow tools developers they decided already in 2001 to expand the field of activity by the yellow tools software development division. This way the Modular Virtual Instruments were born- short MVIs - and were released for the first time in 2003 with the percussion instrument Culture. 2004 the second release followed with the bass instrument Majestic and finally the third MVI Candy was released at the Musikmesse 2005 in Frankfurt.
The biggest milestone and definitely a new standard for sampled based instruments are the releases of INDEPENDENCE - one of the most powerful sampler virtual instrument and workstation available - and FREEDOM - the ultimate virtual effect rack - in 2005/2006.
Today the yellow tools team consists of sound engineers, sound designers, software developers, designers, composers and musicians who all work hard for only one goal - to continue setting new standards for Virtual Instruments, Samplers, Sound Libraries & Audio Software!
