NAMM 2020 news and offers - what can we expect to see this year?

It’s that time of year again, where music fans and software developers from across the globe all flock to California for one of the worlds largest music trade shows in the world. That's right; we're talking about NAMM 2020.

Each year there are plenty of new product announcements and updates, as well as deals and offers on music software, sample packs, software instruments, and hardware. In fact, we've just launched our own exclusive deals for the duration of the show with up to 70% off! You can view them all here

Here's a preview at what you might be able to expect from some of our top developers at this year's show:

Spectrasonics - Find them at the Ilio booth in Hall A, booth #11910

Last year Spectrasonics sent Omnisphere fans (including us!) into a frenzy with the news that the company were releasing version 2.06 of their extraordinary Omnisphere 'power synth'. This was available in the form of a free update to all existing users and added an enhanced Arpeggiator and dramatically expanded Hardware Synth Integration, with support for over 60 Hardware Synths!

We've not seen any teasers yet as to whether Spectrasonics will be announcing anything at NAMM 2020 but as always, we're on the edge of our seats. Could it be the very long awaited update to their award-winning Stylus RMX sampler? More instruments added to the incredible Keyscape keyboard collection? Even more supported hardware synths in Omnisphere 2? Or maybe an entirely new instrument altogether? We'll have to wait and see...

In the meantime, if you don't already own Omnisphere, you can currently buy it from Time+Space and get two expansion packs for free plus £15-worth of Loyalty Points! Check out the video below from the Spectrasonics' booth at last year's NAMM show...

Garritan

It's been a while since we've seen a new Garritan release, but that hasn't affected the popularity of their titles in the slightest! Many still turn to Garritan's range of software when they're on the lookout for high-quality plugins at an affordable price. Could this year be the year where we see the next instalment in the award-winning 'Personal Orchestra' series, possibly in the form of Personal Orchestra 6?

EastWest

EastWest's clientele spans the who's who of the music, film, television, games, multimedia and performing arts, with the likes of Danny Elfman, Thomas Newman, Herbie Hancock, James Newton Howard and countless other leading composers using and endorsing the products. Last year EastWest released some superb virtual instruments including the enormously popular Hollywood Pop Brass, and we already have just had the first of this year's releases - Hollywood Backup Singers – so we can't wait to find out what else they've got coming up!

Best Service
Find them in ACC North Level 1 Booth: #14005

Last year's show saw Best Service announce Eduardo Tarilonte's Dark Era virtual instrument inspired by Vikings and the Dark Ages! Could we see Eduardo back again with another of his epic creations? Chris Hein was also showing off  Orchestral Brass Extended collection - Chris is a familiar face at the NAMM show - we wonder what he'll have up his sleeve this year?

Best Service also had a successful 2019 with their Sonuscore partnership, adding Strings of Winter and Elysion to their line up of 'The Orchestra' virtual instruments - are there any more of these magnificent scoring tools in the pipeline?

Synthogy
Find them at the Ilio booth in Hall A, booth #11910

It's been a while since we've seen a new addition to Synthogy's Ivory II range of breathtaking virtual pianos since the release of Studio Grands, although the recording process is so meticulous we can completely understand why! We do not doubt that many will have their fingers crossed that NAMM 2020 will bring news of a new addition to the Synthogy family. If not a new piano, then maybe another update to their Ivory II engine?

Cinesamples

They don't have a booth at the NAMM show but that's not to say there's no new Kontakt instruments or sample libraries on the horizon. In fact, just before Christmas, Mike Barry presented this first look video for Cinesamples Cinebrass Sonore - and, in keeping with all Cinebrass virtual instruments it sounds incredible! Look out for it coming to Time+Space soon!

VSL / Vienna Symphonic Library
Find them at the Ilio booth in Hall A, booth #11910

Last year's NAMM was all about VSL's new line of Synchron virtual instruments which has greatly expanded throughout 2019. We're sure there will be more to come this year. NAMM 2019 also saw VSL reveal the latest additions to their starter editions – Vienna Smart Orchestra and Vienna Smart Spheres – which have recently been followed up by Smart Hits - they seem to be on to a winner with this line of instruments for 'beginners' so we wouldn't be surprised if another one is imminent... Look out for new VSL NAMM offers starting on the 14th!

AAS / Applied Acoustic Systems
Find them at the Ilio booth in Hall A, booth #11910

Last year's AAS smash hit was their Ultra Analog VA-3 synth which was one of our best selling products of 2019 and we've seen a stream of Sound Packs released for their other instruments and plug-ins. Whether they have anything new remains to be seen but  it will be interesting to see what type of virtual instrument they choose to release if any. In the meantime, there's 50% off the entire AAS range until 28th January!

Overloud Find them at the Ilio booth in Hall A, booth #11910

At last year's NAMM show, Overloud debuted TH-U – a colossal new version of their multi-award winning flagship Guitar Amp Simulation software with a massive 239 models making it the largest virtual collection of guitar amps and effects. Throughout the past year, we've seen Overloud expand TH-U's potential furthermore with a slew of Rig libraries, with more arriving just as the NAMM show launches this year, but we wonder if they'll be a new effects plug-in on the horizon too...

Soundiron
Find them in ACC North Level 1 Booth: #14004

At last year's NAMM show, Soundiron's Mike Peaslee revealed the company would be releasing Hyperion Strings Elements and suggested that a full symphonic version would also be coming out which we've yet to see come to fruition! This year, the guys have their own booth at NAMM - will this be one of the instruments they'll be presenting? We'll let you know!

In the interview below from NAMM 2019, Mike also revealed that they were working on other instruments for the Hyperion product line including brass, winds and concert percussion. And, similarly to Hyperion Strings Micro, Elements and Full, these would be packaged for beginners, intermediates and pros - making the instruments accessible for everyone. No doubt, in true Soundiron style, they'll be great value for money too. Stay tuned for more info coming soon!

What we do know is that Soundiron will be joined by Mimi Page (of Soundiron Mimi Page: Light & Shadow) for some demonstrations so if you're at the show make sure you stop by!

We will constantly be updating this page with all of the latest NAMM news and special offers, so make sure you keep coming back to stay updated! Or why not sign up to our newsletter - you'll get 1GB of Zero-G samples for free when you do!
