Cinematique Instruments Fabrique is a real-time pattern module for creating complex and inspiring musical elements within seconds. Whether you either searching for the basis of a score cue, some sophisticated add-on percussions loops, atmospheric soundscapes, tonal movements, or you even if you just want to get inspired, Fabrique provides almost every possibility according to all these needs.

But even if you are not feeling like creating your own pattern, there are available over one 170 presets, ready to be played.

Fabrique includes three different kinds of modules which each vary in genre and amount of sounds: Firstly there is the PRIME, which covers the full range of cinematic music and song production.

Secondly, there is URBAN which meets the needs of dub and pop music and finally the maverick one called EERIE which provides patterns and sounds for horror and other dramatic purposes.

Although Fabrique is a very complex and versatile tool, it is anyhow straightforward and intuitive to use. All control and operating elements are easily accessible so that you can quickly and easily create or edit your own pattern according to your individual requirements.

Fabrique is a 32 step sequencer equipped with three separate tracks which all play simultaneously. Tracks 1 and 2 are midi generators - track 3 is an audio loop player.

To let Fabrique play notes, you move up and down bars of a table. The table is a perfect tool to set notes because you can see at which positions notes are played or not.

Besides that, Fabrique provides a wide assortment of tools for quickly shaping the sound of either the individual track or the whole pattern. There are plenty of easy-to-use options available for each track: pitching notes, either of the whole track or every note, changing the length of notes, adding reverb or delay, setting a low and high pass filter and putting automatic frequency envelopes over the whole track. Furthermore, there are four master fx switches available to modify the entire sound of the pattern.

This product works with the free Kontakt Player – a free sample player based on Kontakt 5 that runs all Native Instruments’ KONTAKT instruments, as well as third-party products made for the platform.

You can download the Kontakt Player via this link (will take you to Native Instruments website)

Instruments made for Kontakt Player will also run in the full (paid for) version of Kontakt.

Fabrique comes with a vast array of sounds which can separately load into each track. You can feed the first two tracks with over 75 instruments (Prime has 48 instruments, the Urban version contains 24, the Eerie 18). There are instruments both in 5 times round robin variations and single sounds – all in various velocity layers. The instruments are categorised into tonal sounds, deep or high percussion and experimental sounds and noises. Fabrique comes with several new sounds such as a paper roll, a kalimba, a water drop, bass drums, a mallet drum, a bongo, a darabuka, and an electric guitar. Fabrique also contains some highlight sounds from their recent libraries such as Guitar Harmonics, Kantele, The Bowl and some more.

How to Play

To play the entire pattern, you just have to press a key on your keyboard (you can choose which key) or click the 'start' button. Fabrique will play the pattern in an endless loop. You can let Fabrique play in or out of sync with your host application.

The Multi-Mode

To produce very intricate patterns, create a multi-instrument by dragging several instances of Fabrique into Kontakt. Fabrique provides a unique 'Multi-View' tab to reduce its GUI size to see all instances at once. By defining an individual 'run' key for each instance, you can easily play five, eight or ten Fabriques at the same time just by pressing one key! Another bonus is that Fabrique lets you quickly arrange and improvise lots of instances and presets at the same time. You can arrange and layer all of the patterns to suit your requirements.

Press Quotes

"Fabrique is an incredibly exciting new instrument.  I love that it lets you create flexible, unique loops from scratch, and quickly.  I don't love presets and am always looking for tools that let me create the loop I hear in my head.  This does that beautifully." - Theodore Shapiro

"I think it's really cool. You hit "Play" and you instantly get something interesting to react to; yet it's even easier than, say, an Apple Loop, to tweak or to extract an element from. The Prime is probably more to my taste than the Urban. The metal plate in "Easy Chase" really works for me! Really, really well done." - Guy Sigsworth

"I think that your library is a lot of fun - Very cool. I will definitely be using this on the film with Thomas Newman." - Steven Tavaglione
