The ViennaKey is a USB protection device by eLicenser (formerly Syncrosoft) and is required to run any Vienna Instruments or Vienna Symphonic Library software. It is not included in the products of the Vienna Symphonic Library and has to be purchased separately.
If you already have another eLicenser USB protection device (e.g., from Steinberg or Arturia), you can use it for our products, too. Otherwise we recommend ordering a ViennaKey together with your first purchase.
Please see our knowledge base artice below to ensure you know your rights for your VSL content:
You can use one ViennaKey for all of your Vienna Instruments Collections, as long as you run them on one single machine. Of course you can distribute Collections as you wish over several computers, e.g., Solo Strings and Chamber Strings on Computer A and Orchestral Strings and Brass on Computer B. This will require two ViennaKeys. Furthermore, working with Vienna Instruments Collections and/or Vienna software products on more than one computer simultaneously requires one ViennaKey (with the respective licenses) for each computer.
Use the eLCC software (eLicenser Control Center) to copy your licenses onto your USB protection device once you’ve received them with the product box or via email. Later on, you can also move the licensing information from one ViennaKey to another, but you can’t store the same product license on two ViennaKeys at the same time.
Before you start, please make sure you have installed the latest eLCC software – you can download it from the eLicenser website, free of charge.
Don’t forget to register ALL of your eLicenser USB Protection Devices at the VSL User Area. This applies to ViennaKeys as well as to eLicenser USB devices not issued by the Vienna Symphonic Library!
With a ViennaKey and a demo license you can test-drive all Vienna Symphonic Library software products within 30 days. Furthermore, if you’ve already purchased any Vienna Instruments Standard Library you can test-drive the respective Extended Library within the trial period.
To request a demo license, please register your ViennaKey or eLicenser Protection Device(s) in the VSL User Area and contact firstname.lastname@example.org
